  • Operational leasing company LeasePlan will end this year with a fleet of 2,500 cars, up from 1,350 units last year and its turnover will increase four-fold, to ten million euros, against the backdrop of a shift of the customers to this type of financing. At the end of year, the company will reach assets in amount of 20 million euros, up 66% from last year, according to the general manager of the company, Bogdan Apahidean.
  • Developers will not finalise any medium-sized or big retail project in Bucharest in the next two years. A return of the Romanians' appetite for consumption and the investors' appetite for expansion will take place in the second half of next year, according to Cushman & Wakefield Romania. "The finalisation of 600,000 square feet of retail space was announced for 2010-2011, but only 300.000-350.000 square meters will be really supplied to the market, namely one half," Răzvan Gheorghe, Managing Director of the real estate services company Cushman & Wakefield said at "Biz Days", on Tuesday.
  • Romania, Bulgaria and Russia are "risk champions" in the Central and South-Eastern Europe (CEE) region, and the investment funds exclusively focusing on this region have begun to rethink their strategies by extending their area of action, according to the company DTZ Echinox.
  • This year, the value of real estate transactions in Romania fell from the level of almost one billion euros in 2008 to over 70 million euros, the biggest acquisition being made in October, when the New Europe Property Investments Fund bought from the company Belrom Real Estate the European Retail Park  in Brăila, the value of the transaction amounting to 63 million euros.
