The Authority for State Assets Recovery (AVAS) understands the difficult situation in which the Avioane Craiova employees are and is convinced that the best way of resolving the conflict is dialogue, reads a release of the institution.
In this respect, following the repeated approaches of the Authority, the Ministry of Economy and Finance initiated a draft Government Decision whose purpose is for the Authority for State Assets Recovery to continue the procedure for the privatisation of SC Avioane Craiova SA, until its finalisation.
"AVAS has made all diligences for the normative act to be endorsed by the ministries involved, and a Government decision is being expected. The Authority is expressing its conviction that this decision will be taken soonest possible and will allow the solving the existing situation at Avioane Craiova, the Authority's release also reads.
The privatization process of SC Avioane Craiova SA was resumed in October last year by publishing the notice for the sale of the stake owned by AVAS. Four presentation dossiers were bought and, after several successive extensions, the deadline for submitting tenders was set for 30 January 2009. Until the deadline, only one offer for purchase was submitted by Italian company Alenia Aeronautica SpA Italy. At present, the Negotiation Commission analysed the documents for participation submitted by Alenia Aeronautica SpA Italy. The tender validity deadline is 17 April 2009.
Last month the Authority for State Assets Recovery announced that the institution would continue the privatization of Avioane Craiova and, at that time, the Ministry of Economy initiated a draft normative act in this respect, yesterday's announcement being a new step made by the ministerial authority.
"From the correspondence carried out by now between AVAS and the Ministry of Economy, it results that the Ministry of Economy initiated a draft government decision aimed at continuing the procedures for the privatization of SC Avioane Craiova SA by AVAS, until finalisation. The normative act has already been endorsed by the ministries involved and is to be approved by the Executive," reads a release of the Authority.
Avioane Craiova registered losses of 16.39 million lei last year, more than twice than those posted in 2007, on the background of a 28% drop in turnover, to 17.47 million lei.
